The Levett Family

After quietly investing in struggling college students, discreetly aiding churches that were near foreclosure and people experiencing personal challenges, Mr. Levett decided to create a more formal way to assist the community. He estimates contributions has well exceeded $1 million. It is with a mind for business and a heart for people that Mr. Levett established The Gregory B. Levett, Sr. Family Foundation. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to give back to the community, to enrich lives and invest in dreams. As a firm believer in the value education, Mr. Levett offers scholarships to students through the Foundation.

Currently, The Levett Foundation is supporting Clayton State University with an endowment geared toward minority students. For many Clayton State students, they will be the first in their family to obtain a degree. This is not only life-changing for them, but it will ultimately change the trajectory of their family for generations to come. The endowed scholarship will ensure that each year, students are receiving a scholarship to help make this possible. The first recipients of the Gregory B. Levett, Sr. Family Foundation Scholarship will be named fall of 2018.

The Foundation has also sponsored a Back To School Book Bag Give-Away for the past 20 years. This exciting annual event is a Family Fun Day for the community that consists of food, music, games, prizes and book bags.

In 2018, The Foundation launched a campaign, New Year, New Life, which included Enrichment Courses to aid the community in advancing to the next level of their lives and becoming better vessels to achieve dreams and goals. The introduction to these courses included a free concert and featured renowned artist Kenny Lattimore among other talent. Attendees received tools to jump start their new year and new life.

Additionally, the Foundation has contributed to local churches, hospitals and various other charitable organizations. “We want to leave a legacy of service to our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” says Mr. Levett.
